In this episode, Ross Anderson is joined by Australia’s finest Sparkling winemaker – Group Sparkling Winemaker for Accolade wines, and the man behind the House of Arras, Mr Ed Carr. Ed has been making wines for more than 35 years and his patience and determination have helped turn Australia into a serious sparkling producer, as well as putting Tasmania on the wine map.
In 2018 Ed received a lifetime achievement award from the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships in London – the only winemaker outside of Champagne to win this award. Ed has been voted winemaker of the year – twice, and in November of 2022 Arras EJ Carr Late Disgorged 2004 was voted Decanter wine of the year. A few days later the Museum Release 2001 won Sparkling Class trophy and wine of Show at Global Fine Wine Challenge here in Sydney.
